The Old Tree
A dead tree stands alone in a field, gnarled, broken branches still pointing skyward.
This tree stood in a field near where I live. Its lumpy, broken shape always fascinated me when I would walk past so, of course, I had to paint it. More than once in fact. And I’ll probably paint it again at some point. Alas, these will be the only records of the tree’s existence as its rotten trunk gave out in bad weather last year and it has crumbled away to fragments.
Painted in acrylic on stretched canvas, unframed.
Painting has been varnished, backed with paper and is ready to hang.
Framing can be arranged, though that will add slightly to both the cost and the delivery time.
